Method
To weaken the characteristic physical properties of the substances six tests were done. These were tests of appearance, melting point, conductivity of solid state, solubility in water, conductivity of resolve and hardness.
testify 1: Appearance. This was to throwaway whether the substance was shiny, dull, with colour etc.
Test 2: warming point. Pieces of the solid were primed(p) in a test tube and heated, rough in tongs. These were heated slowly to start of with then more strongly. The substances were detect until they started to melt. It was been noted whether the substance melts at high or low temperature.
Test 3: conduction of solid. Electrodes of the conductivity band were placed on a fragment of the solid it was observed whether there was a current flow or not.
Test 4: Solubility in water. A small sum up of solid was placed in a test tube. weewee was added and the mixture was stirred. This was to note whether a clear declaration make or not.
Test 5: Conductivity of solution.
Where a solution was formed in test 4, electrodes of the conductivity circuit were placed in the solution, to test if there was a current flow.
Test 6: Hardness. An attempt to crush the substance was done victimisation a spatula. The observations were classified into waxy, soft, brittle, hard etc.
All observations were noted in the results table.
