Rugby Pitch
People say sports arent everything in life, but I disagree. By play Rugby I restrain learned concepts that have do me the strong, independent woman I am today. I have been playing for 10 years. It is what I like to call my bag away from home.
On the first day of training for the British Columbia Team, I was introduced to a group of strangers; kids from different schools selected through physical grading, and told that they would be my teammates. Over the course of ten years, we endured heavy(p) training from our coaches, and bonded over a multitude of incidents, ranging from relationship problems to super acid hatred of coaches or teachers.
The rugby pitch, which is like an NFL football field of operation is my safe haven. In 2011 my British Columbia team was on our way to the national form of address, the coaches yelling at us to full stop focused, we are speed, be the ball, Make the first tackle, channel your talent all the senior players on the team including myself all knew this was our cadence to prove to anyone that us winning isnt just a fluke. The sound of Cant be touched by nelly and The heart of a champion by nelly played on the bus.
We stepped on the field confident and in tune with our championship mindset. The smell of fresh rain and fresh cut puke fill the air, making my skin tremble, making the hair on the back of my neck stand and making me have k nons in my stomach to how nervous I truly am. When the referee calls armorial bearing check, we know that the back is going to start, thats when we all break down a little nervous. We huddle up and chant our notorious cheer Highlanders, what is your profession?!....RUGBY aoo aoo aoo
The first ten minutes of the game determine who will win and who will lose, who is strong and who is weak.
