In this period were used collar languages: the Latin was used by the clergy, scholars and lawyers; the feudal nobles used Norman French; only middle and lower classes spoke side. few of them were literate and the early imposts were oral and dramatic. Old English Literature (450- 1066)
English literature is divided in three periods: old English, Middle Ages, Modern.
England was an island. And the language was influenced by the invasions of other common peoples. The Iberians was the first tribe of England. The first invasion was by Celts. Then was came the Romance. This invasion was followed by Teutonic (German) for the north, east and south. Six centuries later come Normans.
By 450 A.D. the islands Iberio- Celtic_ Romano- Saxo- Jutish - Anglian speech was coled English.
